StepGreen is an umbrella project in the Human Computer Interaction Institute that brings together faculty and research from several disciplines including behavioral science, environmental engineering, and computer science. StepGreen's ultimate goal is to understand and address the problems inherent in changing energy consumption behavior.

I spent the summer of 2010 working as a research programmer for Rob Thompson and Jennifer Mankoff building a Flash Air application for academic campuses to calculate and track their energy consumption. I used Actionscript 3 and Flash to develop the application.

After coming back from a semester leave of absence to work on virtualBoard, I resumed working as a research programmer during the spring semester of 2011 as an Android and Ruby on Rails developer. I worked on getting the two components to authorize via OAuth.
